Open Rank, Tenure Track Position
The Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track faculty appointment. We seek a scholar with an established and focused externally funded program of research in communication sciences and disorders.
We are interested in scholars with expertise in communication development and disorders in children and/or young adults, particularly in the areas of developmental disabilities and in the application of biobehavioral methods (e.g., EEG, neuroimaging, eye tracking) to the study of these populations. We also welcome applications from scholars interested in the diversity of our professions and the populations we serve and in addressing associated inequities.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include maintaining an active program of research that is relevant to communication sciences and disorders, mentoring student research, teaching, and engaging in service to ensure continued excellence of the Division’s programs.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a record of success in external funding, a demonstrated interest in diversity of our professions and the populations we serve, and in addressing associated inequities. Candidates who have ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) and eligibility for state licensure are preferred.
