The Aphasia Research Lab (PI: Jiyeon Lee; https://www.purdue.edu/hhs/slhs/aphasia/) in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University has an immediate opening for a full-time Research Assistant position. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and the collaborators (Nadine Martin at Temple; Victor Ferreira at UCSD) to support multi-site NIH funded research projects on language learning and recovery in persons with post-stroke aphasia. The research assistant will be involved in every aspect of research, including helping to design studies and prepare stimuli, recruiting and scheduling research participants, delivering language training sessions to participants with and without aphasia, running eye-tracking studies, coding and analyzing data, training and supervising undergraduate students, organizing lab resources, purchasing and maintaining lab equipment, assisting in the dissemination of findings (manuscripts, presentations), and regularly participating in virtual cross-site research meetings. The position will be based in the Aphasia Research Lab at West Lafayette campus with an occasional trip to our satellite testing site in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a single-year position with renewal contingent on performance and availability of funds. Candidates who have a strong background in experimental language research and/or working with clinical populations will be given priority.
