The School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Audiology which includes responsibilities for teaching in the SDSU/University of California, San Diego Joint Audiology Doctoral Program.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Audiology or a related field, excellence in teaching, strong research abilities, prior clinical experience in audiology, and a commitment to working in a multi-cultural environment with students from diverse backgrounds are required. Primary responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervising AuD doctoral research projects, pursuing a research program in the area of audiology, and for qualified applicants, program administration.


The ideal candidate would have research expertise in one or more of the following areas: aural (re)habilitation, tinnitus treatment, auditory-processing disorders, diagnosis/ treatment of hearing and balance disorders, cochlear implants, and/or pediatric audiology. In addition, the candidate should have the background needed to move into the position of Audiology Program Director over the next few years. ASHA certification (CCC-A), and/or eligibility for state licensure are preferred. Salary will be dependent on candidate’s qualifications and budget considerations.
