Gallaudet University Department of Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences is seeking a 12-month Clinical Educator- Speech-Language Pathology for its hearing and speech clinic. The mission of the Gallaudet University Hearing and Speech Center (GUHSC) is to provide comprehensive and innovative hearing, speech, language, and balance services to the University and the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are committed to offering the best possible hearing, speech, and language related care with state-of-the-science solutions for individuals across the lifespan, while providing supervised, training opportunities for both our SLP and AuD students.


Background Information: The person hired for this position will provide clinical instruction/supervision to MS-SLP students in a university-based, insurance-based billing clinic. The position will focus primarily on training students to work with individuals diagnosed with a wide variety of disorders. Primary disorder areas served may include: AAC, autism spectrum disorders, receptive/expressive language, motor speech, articulation/phonology, and aural rehabilitation with adults. Although not required, experience with adults or in additional areas such as, neurogenic communication disorders, fluency, and/or voice is a plus. This position will include direct service provision as well.

The applicant must be licensed to practice in District of Columbia (or have applied for that licensing) before the position start date.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters in Speech Language Pathology


2 years post completion of clinical fellowship

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge or expertise in a pediatric specialty area

Experience with aural rehabilitation (preferably adult)

Experience supervising students/interns

More than 5 years’ experience in the field

Experience working in a variety of settings including private practice, home-health care, outpatient rehabilitation facilities or clinical settings

At least 2 hours of CEUs in clinical instruction and supervision

Hold active NPI, Medicare, and Medicaid numbers or other credentialing

Knowledge of ASL
