SLP Clinical Externship Coordinator
Overview & Responsibilities:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Montclair State University is seeking an individual who will be responsible for a range of services to the speech-language pathology master’s students focusing on the clinical externships. Specifically, this individual will arrange all off-campus clinical experiences, conduct visits to these external sites, work to develop contracts with new off-campus sites, maintain accurate records for student off-campus experiences, and maintain close contact with the off-site SLP supervisors and the off-site SLP students. The SLP Externship Coordinator will also participate in some supervision in the on-campus Center for Speech-Language Pathology, and perform other duties as assigned. The speech-language pathology program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of ASHA.
Qualifications: This individual must hold a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This person must be eligible for New Jersey State Licensure in SLP. A minimum of 5 years clinical experience with at least 3 years of supervisory/administrative experience is required. Clinical experience should include work with both pediatric and adult populations. Experience in supervision of university students is highly desirable.
