The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks a tenure-track faculty member in speech-language pathology at the rank of assistant or associate professor (Requisition ID: 2020-71417). This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position, located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and college promotion and tenure criteria.

Functions and Responsibilities

The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applicants who are team-oriented and possess a strong interest in educating graduate students in our CAA accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology. The faculty member will report to the Chair in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology. Primary responsibilities will include engagement in the M.S. program in speech-language pathology; teaching M.S. and Ph.D. courses; conducting scholarly activity; mentoring student research; assisting with clinical education; advising graduate students; and participating in university, community and professional service. Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Doctorate degree in communication sciences and disorders or related field (or ABD considered but completion of doctorate required by June 30, 2022)
  2. Eligibility for CCC-SLP and eligibility for SLP licensure in the state of Arkansas

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: AAC, voice, fluency, dysphagia, literacy, and/or special populations
  2. Ph.D. in communication sciences and disorders
  3. Prior university teaching and student supervision
  4. Ability to develop and conduct an externally-funded research program
