ESU is hiring a Tenure Track Assistant Professor for the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provide convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.

As the Assistant Professor, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable working with a diverse student population. You will be an active member of the department and will teach undergraduate and graduate classes, and will supervise graduate clinicians at the ESU Speech and Hearing Center. Preferred emphasis in the areas of speech science and organic communication disorders; individuals with any area of specialization are strongly encouraged to apply.

What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
• Plan syllabus and teach assigned graduate and undergraduate courses
• Supervise graduate clinicians at the ESU Speech and Hearing Center
• Understand accreditation and KASA standards and teach to those standards as indicated in course syllabi, including clinic supervision requirements
• Undergraduate academic advising
• Acceptance of departmental assignments
• Participation in graduate program candidate review
• University Service
• Research in area of expertise

What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
•Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders; ABD candidates will be considered
•Supervision and/or college teaching experience preferred
•Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
•Pennsylvania Professional License in Speech- Language Pathology
•Must be able to pass criminal record checks and TB testing
•Professional Liability Insurance
•ASHA required supervisory training
•Experience with and understanding of KASA Standards
•Research and clinical experience preferred
•Preferred emphasis in the areas of speech science and organic communication disorders; individuals with any area of specialization are strongly encouraged to apply.
