SLP Full Time Assistant/Associate Professor, Appointment Stream, Undergraduate Program Director
POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor, Appointment Stream (outside of the tenure stream), Full-Time (12-month) faculty member within the Department of Communication Science and Disorders, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Pittsburgh. We are seeking a full-time faculty member to serve as Director of the Undergraduate Program in Communication Science.
CONTENT AREA: Any area of Speech-Language Pathology
STARTING DATE: Between July 1, 2021 and December 30, 2021
DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES:
1. Director will provide visionary leadership and administration of the undergraduate program.
2. Director will provide leadership and administration of the on-campus post-baccalaureate program.
3. Provide leadership in refinement of the undergraduate program curriculum, including consideration of innovative and accessible models of education.
4. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of online and hybrid programs. Director will be expected to provide leadership in the development of an online post-baccalaureate program.
5. Oversee student recruitment, student success, and program outcomes.
6. Director will oversee and provide direct supervision to the undergraduate student advisor(s).
7. Facilitate access to high quality undergraduate research training experiences and other observational opportunities across the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
8. Engage in didactic teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
9. Participate in departmental, school, university, and professional service.
10. Participate in productive scholarship in area(s) of expertise.
11. Candidate will demonstrate successful experience and/or a strong motivation for excellence and innovation in classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction and teaching. Experience and/or interest in remote learning and use of simulations in education preferred.
12. Candidate will demonstrate successful academic collaboration and/or a strong motivation for such collaboration and building and maintaining excellence in scholarly work and clinical education in a research-intensive department, school, and university.
QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders or related discipline with demonstrated expertise in specified subject areas. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (or its recognized equivalent) and eligibility for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure. Priority given to candidates with a track-record of clinical expertise, clinical administrative leadership, and/or demonstrated evidence in curriculum development.
