VICE CHAIR OF AUDIOLOGY ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR

West Virginia University has an exciting opportunity in the Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Human Performance Department within the School of Medicine for a full-time, tenure or clinical track (12-month) Vice Chair of Audiology to contribute to a well-established, currently accredited program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service at the Associate/Full Professor rank. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. With an investment by the university in the program’s future, this individual will revise the Doctorate of Audiology program while assisting in the development of a new clinical facility. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of WVU and the programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, effective clinical and classroom teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as direct research programs in audiology. Primary responsibility will be to develop a three-year Audiology Program while also participating in scholarship which will lead to peer-reviewed publications in the appropriate areas of expertise while also developing a regional, national, and international conference presence. This person will foster a department culture of collegiality, collaboration, and trust, while promoting and demonstrating innovation and resourcefulness and also seeking to promote partnerships within the department, community, and other related programs. Active engagement in departmental, university, and professional service activities is also expected.
Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:
Terminal degree in Audiology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or other related field (PhD or EdD)
- West Virginia Audiology license or eligibility for a West Virginia Audiology license
- Current ASHA Certification (CCC-A) or ability to obtain CCC-A prior to starting
- Affiliation or employment for at least two years by an Institution of Higher Education
- Record of scholarship with preference for those having experience with external funding
- Experience in the provision of clinical services for a minimum of three years
All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment

The WVU Health Sciences Center includes the Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and Nursing.
