Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) has historically struggled with diversifying members of the professions. This is of major concern to the academic programs that recruit, retain, and train students. Although racial, ethnic, linguistic, and gender disparities are salient, there are many other factors that can cause students to be underrepresented in their programs. Underrepresented students are at risk of being marginalized due to microaggressions, macroaggressions, and discrimination from peers, faculty, supervisors, and clients.
This webinar will explore ways to disrupt microaggressions, decrease harm to underrepresented students in CSD, and create more inclusive environments.
