Description
This session will focus on the current work of the Council of Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) related to the implementation of the 2017 Standards, as well as updates to the Standards and accreditation processes. The most frequently cited standards in accreditation decisions, and appropriate responses to citations will also be discussed.

American Speech Language Hearing Association
Ms. Kimberlee Moore is the Director of Accreditation for the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She serves as the chief accreditation officer, overseeing the quality assurance processes for over 350 graduate programs in audiology and speech-language pathology, and serves as an ex-officio member to the CAA. Ms. Moore holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia.

Nancy Alarcon
University of Washington
Nancy Alarcon, M.S., CCC-SLP, is Principal Lecturer Emeritus and former Director of Clinical Education and Director of the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington. She is the 2020 Chair of the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (CAA). Across her career, Nancy has mentored graduate students in the clinical learning environment, and developed and co-created presentations and partnerships to strengthen clinical education skills throughout our professional community. Nancy has received CAPCSD Honors and the CAPCSD Service Award, and has been a faculty recipient of the University of Washington David Thoroud Leadership Award. She has been recognized as an ASHA Fellow and has served in numerous professional leadership roles.
