IPE: Beyond Definitions

IPE: Beyond Definitions

Tuesday, March 16, 2021 (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Communications sciences and disorders faculty and program leaders have the opportunity to go beyond defining interprofessional education (IPE) by increasing the value and practice of IPE in their programs. The aim of this webinar is to provide practical tools and examples for developing, implementing, and assessing IPE activities across the curriculum and with a variety of other professions. Using a fast-paced presentation format called Pecha Kucha, meaning "chit chat" in Japanese, webinar participants will hear examples of IPE activities and assessments from presenters who represent diverse institution sizes, professional roles, and content areas. Participants will link these examples to a framework IPE development, implementation, and assessment and will reflect on how IPE might be expanded in their own programs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe a framework for developing, implementing, and assessing interprofessional education (IPE) activities across the communication and sciences disorders curriculum.
  • Identify next steps for developing an IPE activity that could be implemented at the participant’s institution.
  • Identify at least two resources for supporting the implementation of IPE activities.
