Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) are essential for improving collaboration and outcomes in healthcare and education. Updated certification standards emphasize IPE, but there is a need for further research to establish best practices. IPE has evolved over decades, with significant contributions from the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), which has expanded its competency domains. Current resources from organizations like ASHA, HPAC, and NAP support IPE, but future efforts must address leadership, resource allocation, goal alignment, and the integration of online education. Additionally, focusing on population health and school-based health care can enhance IPE's impact. Developing a strong culture of IPE and IPCP involves coordinated efforts, ongoing assessment, and adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
