Position Summary:

The Communication Disorders and Sciences Department at the State University of New York (SUNY) Cortland invites applications for a 12-month, full-time Lecturer I position. This position primarily involves clinical supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, with teaching responsibilities during the summer session and as needed.

Major Responsibilities: 

· Provide clinical supervision to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in on- and off-campus clinical practicum, including screenings, diagnostics, and therapy. 

· Demonstrate a broad range of clinical experiences across the lifespan. 

· Provide assessment and intervention experiences that may include, but are not limited to: 

· Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) 

· Autism spectrum disorders 

· Voice disorders 

· Fluency disorders 

· Aphasia 

· Adult communication disorders 

· Early childhood and school-age speech and language disorders 

· Demonstrate strong clinical documentation and writing skills. 

· Exhibit excellent interpersonal and professional skills when working with students, clients, families, colleagues, and other professionals. 

· Demonstrate a commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive academic environment consistent with SUNY Cortland’s mission, vision, values, and campus priorities. 

· Teach academic coursework within the department during summer session and as needed. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

· Master’s degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a closely related field; 

· American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP); 

· New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology; 

· Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in speech-language pathology; 

· Completion of at least 2 CEUs in clinical supervision prior to the start date. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

· Prior clinical supervisory experience.
