The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Dewar College of Education and Human Services invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position beginning July 1, 2026. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to join our team! The successful candidate will provide clinical instruction and supervision in their area of expertise and contribute to service at the department, college, and university levels.

The department is home to 10 full-time faculty members who are passionate about preparing future professionals in Speech-Language Pathology through our B.Ed. and M.Ed. programs. We pride ourselves on supporting students at every stage of their career journey and partnering with educational and medical facilities across South Georgia and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Instruction of 12 hours of undergraduate/graduate courses per semester, including clinical supervision

•Academic and vocational advising for undergraduate and graduate students

•Engagement in the program, department, university, discipline, and community


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders at the time of appointment

•3-5 years clinical experience, ASHA certified in Speech Pathology, and eligible for licensure in Georgia

•Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•A record of effective supervision appropriate to the applicant’s career stage

•Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting

•A record of mentoring students

•Previous supervision experience in Communication Sciences and Disorders

•Expertise in pediatric evaluation and treatment

•Knowledge and experience with course subject-matter, evidence-based teaching and clinical practices

•Strong communication skills and a student-inspired approach to instruction for educational excellence, equity, advocacy, and serving students and communities

•Spanish speaking or near-native fluency in Spanish

The Dewar College of Education and Human Services prepares professionals for multiple roles in educational, business, and community settings.
