Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Speech Language Pathology

DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Speech-Language Pathology. This individual will pursue scholarly endeavors leading to publication, presentations, and grants, mentor students completing research, teach undergraduate and graduate academic courses, and participate in campus, community, and professional service. This is a campus-based position. This is a 9-month, open-rank, tenure-track position.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:
  • Complete scholarly activities resulting in dissemination as outlined by the college promotion and tenure policies and the university faculty handbook
  • Seek funding to support an active research line
  • Direct graduate students who are completing research
  • Develop undergraduate and graduate course curriculum to meet standards as outlined by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA).
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, fostering knowledge and skills so that students meet standards in communication and swallowing disorders as outlined by CAA and/or the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain student records in accordance with university policies
  • Participate in continual program assessment including collecting student data to collectively work with the department for continual accreditation.
  • Maintain involvement with professional organizations
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community
  • Serve on departmental, college and university committees


Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PhD or EdD in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field; degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited university.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology
  • Eligibility for Oklahoma Licensure in speech-language pathology
  • Minimum 3 years work experience as a speech-language pathologist
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Willing to complete 2 hours continuing education in the area of clinical supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research doctorate in speech-language pathology or related area;
  • experience teaching
  • Experience supervising students, and previous presentations or research experience.
  • Preferred areas of expertise include feeding and swallowing disorders or motor speech disorders.
  • We will also consider applicants with expertise in craniofacial disorders, voice disorders, and/or stuttering.
