DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology

The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Lewis University invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology. Preferred areas of expertise include aphasia, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, motor speech disorders, dysphagia or child language. . Experience teaching in person and online is preferred. Candidates must hold an earned doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) or related area (Ph.D. or Ed.D) from an accredited institution. They must demonstrate a significant record of university teaching experience, clinical expertise and a line of scholarly work within the CSD disciplines. This faculty appointment is available to begin January, 2026. Faculty report to the Graduate SLP Program Director.


The primary responsibilities of the Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology shall include:

· Developing and teaching didactic academic courses in the SLP curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses. Courses will be delivered in person, hybrid and asynchronously on line.

· Developing and executing a line of scholarly research that results in dissemination of knowledge.

· Participating in the clinical education of SLP students, including mentorship of student scholarly projects, clinical practicum and/or community outreach projects.

· Completing service to the program, college, university and our profession.

· Recording student assessment data to document their achievement at midterm and end of each semester.

· Participation in departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other meetings or events, as required.

· Performing other duties as assigned by the administrators of the SLP program.

· Modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, and respectful collaboration.

· Fostering an educational environment supportive of the Lasallian Mission.
