The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks faculty members in speech-language pathology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. These are full-time, 12-month faculty positions, located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and college promotion and tenure criteria.

Functions and Responsibilities
The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applicants who are team-oriented and possess a strong interest in educating graduate students in our CAA accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology. Faculty members will report to the director of the speech pathology program. Primary responsibilities may include engagement in the M.S. program in speech-language pathology; teaching graduate courses; conducting scholarly activity; mentoring student research; assisting with clinical education; advising graduate students; and participating in university, community, and professional service. The distribution of duties within the workload will depend on whether the applicant’s education and experience is most appropriate for an academic scholar or clinical educator role.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in speech-language pathology
2. Holds ASHA’s CCC-SLP (minimum of 1 year)
3. Able to obtain SLP licensure in the state of Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: multicultural/multilingual assessment and intervention, augmentative/alternative communication, early intervention, aural rehabilitation, autism spectrum disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, literacy, or voice.
2. Doctorate degree in communication sciences and disorders or related field.
3. Bilingual (Spanish Preferred)
4. Prior university teaching and student supervision
5. Demonstrated record of a scholarly research program
6. 5+ years of experience in the field of speech-language pathology
