Assistant or Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology

Oklahoma Baptist University | Full-Time, 12-Month Faculty Appointment | Remote-Hybrid

Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant or Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology to join its growing Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to an innovative graduate program that integrates academic excellence, clinical education, service, scholarship, and Christian principles.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, advising and mentoring, research and scholarship, professional and university service, and curriculum development. The position is eligible for remote work, with periodic travel to the OBU campus in Shawnee, Oklahoma, as determined by the Program Director and Dean.

Preference will be given to applicants with the following areas of expertise:

Adult medical practice, dysphagia evaluation and management, neurogenic communication disorders, voice disorders

Qualifications

• Terminal academic doctorate (PhD or EdD) preferred; candidates actively pursuing a terminal degree or holding a clinical doctorate or master's degree will also be considered.
• Experience developing and teaching synchronous and/or asynchronous online courses at the graduate or undergraduate level.
• Demonstrated excellence and innovation in hybrid or online university instruction.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and advising skills.
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in Oklahoma.
• Active engagement in professional activities at the local, state, and/or national level.

Responsibilities

• Developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate SLP courses
• Mentoring graduate students and advising undergraduate and graduate students
• Conducting and disseminating scholarly research
• Mentoring students completing clinical research projects
• Participating in university and professional service
• Engaging in ongoing professional development
