Position Description

Assistant Professor, Audiology 


Position:

Assistant Professor, Audiology. Full-time, tenure-track or consecutive-term 12-month position available immediately at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.


Required Qualifications

Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in audiology (PhD or AuD), current CCC-A, eligibility for Oklahoma audiology licensure, the potential for successful didactic teaching, scholarship, and service, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience in the clinical supervision of AuD students, the ability to mentor student research, secure grant funding, and engage in collaborative research.  Preferred areas of expertise include amplification, implantable hearing technology, and/or foundational coursework.


Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Teach didactic courses in the AuD program

- Supervise AuD students in clinic 

- Conduct research/scholarship in area of expertise 

- Mentor AuD students in research activities

- Contribute to university, college, department, and section committees.


University/Program:

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is part of the College of Allied Health on the campus of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City, OK. The College of Allied Health is one of seven colleges on the OUHSC campus. The CSD Department offers the only AuD program in the state. We also offer an M.A. degree program in SLP and an undergraduate degree program in CSD. The CSD Department includes the John W. Keys Speech and Hearing Center in the College of Allied Health, which serves as an essential clinical site and opportunity for research for students in the professional degree programs. Salary:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and work experience.


Start Date:
