Assistant Professor, Audiology
Assistant Professor, Audiology. Full-time, tenure-track or consecutive-term 12-month position available immediately at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications include a Ph.D./Ed.D. degree in audiology (or related field) with evidence of successful teaching of didactic course(s) for at least one semester, scholarly publications and/or presentations, interest in and ability to mentor student capstone projects, service, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants with an Au.D. degree who have research and didactic course teaching experience will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred areas of teaching experience include foundational courses such as instrumentation, hearing science, and anatomy and physiology of hearing. Preferred qualifications include the ability to secure grant funding and engage in collaborative research. Preferred qualifications also include audiology licensure in Oklahoma (or eligibility for licensure), the CCC-A, and interest in providing clinical supervision to audiology students.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Teach didactic courses in the AuD program and undergraduate CSD program.
- Conduct research/scholarship in area of expertise
- Mentor AuD students in research activities
- Contribute to university, college, department, and section committees.
University/Program:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is part of the College of Allied Health on the campus of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City, OK. The College of Allied Health is one of seven colleges on the OUHSC campus. The CSD Department offers the only AuD program in the state. We also offer an M.A. degree program in SLP and an undergraduate degree program in CSD. The CSD Department includes the John W. Keys Speech and Hearing Center in the College of Allied Health, which serves as an essential clinical site and opportunity for research for students in the professional degree programs. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and work experience.
