The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Maryville University (St. Louis) has an opening at the Assistant Professor level for the 2024-2025 academic year. This opening requires someone who can work on campus who holds a specialty and expertise in voice disorders, dysphagia, acquired language disorders, and medical-based services. Responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, providing clinical supervision, advising, mentoring students in research projects, and providing service to the department and University. The department is housed in a brand-new state-of-the-art facility and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA).

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Preferably, either a PhD or EdD in speech-language pathology or related field (ABD applicants will be considered);
Ability to teach and supervise on campus
• Candidates need to possess the CCC-SLP and qualify for a Missouri SLP license.
• Candidates must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff and students.


Preferred Qualifications

• A PhD or EdD in speech-language pathology or related field (ABD applicants will be considered);
• expertise in the following areas is preferred:
o voice disorders, dysphagia,
o acquired language disorders, and medical-based services;
o experience treating the adult population
