Assistant Professor of Speech‐Language Pathology Tenure Track Faculty Position
The DEPARTMENT OF SPEECH PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY in the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a full-time (12 month), tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants with expertise in any area of Speech-Language Pathology are encouraged to apply, with preference given for applicants with areas of expertise in dysphagia, motor speech disorders, and/or voice disorders.
RESPONSIBILITIES of the position include teaching in the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree program and in the Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences degree program, as well as opportunities for mentorship of students in the Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Sciences and Disorders degree program. Responsibilities also include the development and/or maintenance of significant lines of scholarly research, including conducting, publishing, and presenting peer-reviewed, data-driven research at national and/or international levels. Further, the faculty member appointed to this position will provide service to the Department, College, and University, and will contribute positively to the overall mission and atmosphere of the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS include an earned research doctorate (PhD) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from an accredited university, ABD considered.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS include eligibility for or current state licensure from the Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) in Speech-Language Pathology, and eligibility for or current certificate of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
