JOB DESCRIPTION


The Position

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor position. Faculty with expertise in pediatric speech-language pathology (e.g., child language acquisition, child language disorders, literacy, school-age language disorders, speech sound disorders, phonology, pediatric feeding and swallowing, AAC, or pediatric medical speech-language pathology) are encouraged to apply. Other areas of expertise will also be considered. 


The successful candidate will develop and sustain a line of research that contributes to scientific advancement in an area related to your expertise, actively pursue external funding for research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face, online, and/or blended), advise students and direct student research, and engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service. Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in communication sciences and disorders or a closely related field, earned CCC-SLP, and eligibility for Mississippi state licensure. Additionally, applicants should have a record or demonstrated potential of scholarly peer-reviewed publications, external funding to support research programs, and successful teaching. A strong record of quality research and teaching is required for tenure.


The Department

The CSD Department has a team of 26 faculty and staff and over 350 students (https://csd.olemiss.edu/). CSD currently offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The Master of Science program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
