About the Position

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) at Hardin-Simmons University welcomes applicants interested in program administration, who have a love for teaching, and a heart for service to serve as our next Assistant Program Director for SLP specifically overseeing the undergraduate Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) degree. This position would teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. The interested candidate would join a dynamic faculty dedicated to the success of our growing programs. Faculty and students are involved in our pro-bono SLP clinic and numerous unique opportunities in the community. The Assistant Program Director would be responsible for teaching, recruitment for the CSD program, supervision & mentoring of students, interdisciplinary professional education and budgeting. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required. Service to the university, community, and profession are expected. A master’s degree in SLP with teaching and/or clinical experience is preferred.

Hardin-Simmons University is a private, faith-based institution whose mission is to provide students with “an education enlightened by faith.” Located in Abilene, this beautiful campus in West Texas offers a supportive environment for faculty. The CSD program will work hand in hand with the SLP program on campus. This is a full-time, 9-month, position at the Assistant Professor level available July 1, 2025. The successful candidate may be eligible for tenure-track depending on qualifications.
