The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia seeks an Associate or Full Professor of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the Department of Human Services. The CSD program was established 80 years ago as the first of its kind in the mid-Atlantic region and has maintained CAA accreditation for 50 years. This vibrant program is dedicated to quality training that prepares students for practice and research in a pluralistic society. The successful candidate will maintain a productive line of independent scholarly research in any area of the field of communication sciences and disorders, contribute to teaching in the B.S.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. degree programs, and engage in professional service locally, nationally, and potentially internationally. This is a 9-month, salaried, tenure-eligible position.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
- PhD in Communication Sciences & Disorders or closely related discipline
- Established line of independent research in any area of communication sciences and disorders
- Track record of successful teaching in a university setting
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience or interest in providing CSD program leadership
- Experience engaging undergraduate and graduate students in research activities
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
