Clinical Assistant Professor in Audiology

DISCIPLINE Audiology TYPE Faculty

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Memphis (www.memphis.edu/csd) is a leading academic and clinical program. The Audiology (AuD) program is located in a state-of-the-art facility, with significant space for expansion of new and existing programs, in a community with growing opportunities for interprofessional practice with a diverse base of students and patients. We are able to offer the full scope of audiology services to our patients including vestibular assessment, auditory rehabilitation, auditory processing testing, and cochlear implant services. The cochlear implant program is growing especially rapidly and is in need of an audiologist to provide care to our patients.

This 12-month, non-tenure track position is ideal for a strong, innovative clinician whose focus area is in cochlear implants and who will provide clinical education in an academic setting. Applicants are expected to collaborate on research and service with clinical and academic faculty. This candidate is expected to be involved in the growth of the adult implant program and instrumental in the development of the pediatric implant program.

Applicants with interests in audiologic (re)habilitation and interprofessional practice and/or public health initiatives are encouraged to apply. The candidate should have an AuD or PhD in a related area. The applicant must have ASHA certification and be eligible for TN state licensure. Those with previous teaching experience – either clinical or traditional didactics – are strongly encouraged to apply.
