Job Summary: | This position will serve as Chair of Speech & Hearing Sciences while providing academic, administrative, and strategic leadership for the department. The position is a 9-month contract with a summer stipend for June, July, and August. This role ensures the program meets accreditation standards, fosters excellence in teaching and research, and supports faculty, staff, and student success. |

1. Leadership & Administration a. Oversee all aspects of program operations, including budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning. b. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards (e.g., CAA). c. Represent the department in college and university committees and initiatives. d. Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement. | 40 |
2. Teaching & Scholarship a. Teach courses in areas of expertise within the department curriculum. b. Maintain an active program of scholarly and/or creative activity. c. Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and professional development. | 30 |
3. Academic Oversight a. Lead curriculum development and assessment to ensure alignment with industry standards and student learning outcomes. b. Supervise faculty teaching assignments and course scheduling. c. Support faculty development and mentorship. | 10 |
4. Accreditation & Compliance a. Maintain program accreditation by ensuring adherence to CAA standards. b. Oversee program assessment and continuous quality improvement initiatives. c. Prepare and submit accreditation reports and documentation. | 10 |
