Employer: JMS Association Management Professionals, a full-service association management company. This position will have one client, the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD)

CAPCSD partners with Liaison International, an educational software company, to offer the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS). CSDCAS is a centralized application system that allows students to apply to multiple participating graduate programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology with a single application, and facilitates a streamlined admissions process for participating graduate programs. Currently, there are 300+ graduate programs participating in CSDCAS.

Position Type: This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some work outside of these hours.
The Director of Centralized Admissions will report to CAPCSD’s Executive Director. Some travel will be required: approximately 3-4 trips per year (12-15 work days) to attend meetings and the annual CAPCSD conference.

Position Location: Remote, this position is eligible for the JMS Work From Home Program.

Salary: $70,000-$80,000 per year, Commensurate with Experience

Position Summary:  

The Director of Centralized Admissions is responsible for coordinating and implementing tasks associated with CSDCAS and supporting the students and members of CAPCSD, including but not limited to:

     - Manage CSDCAS, ensuring efficient daily and annual operations.

- Maintain a positive working relationship with our partner, Liaison International, and serve as the primary contact with this partner.

- Lead the annual CSDCAS launch, including identifying enhancements, testing all products, system updates, and updating relevant materials.

- Continually monitor, maintain, and request improvements to the CSDCAS platform to enhance user experience and operational effectiveness.

- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with faculty and admissions staff at member progams and provide them with the highest level of customer service.

-  Actively recruit CAPCSD member programs to participate in CSDCAS and provide onboarding services to newly participating programs.

- Interpret and report on admissions trends using data from CSDCAS.

- Represent CSDCAS at conferences by exhibiting and providing presentations.

- Represent CSDCAS in activities with Liaison International. Included in this role is attending 2 CAS Summit meetings per year and participation with the CAS Executive Group comprised of representatives from other health professions associations. Act as staff liaison to the CAPCSD Admissions Committee. This committee serves in an advisory capacity for CSDCAS and consists of three subcommittees - data, program resource, and student recruitment. This position will provide project management support to all of the committee initiatives.

  • Act as staff liaison for the following CAPCSD member committees:
  • Academic Affairs
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
  • AI Task Force
  • Coordinate all aspects of CAPCSD scholarships/grants/awards. This includes configuration of the review software, communication with members to solicit scholarship applications, assign volunteer reviewers, and communicate with applicants.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for a master’s degree. Experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Preferred:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and computer and database       management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Commitment to supporting member academic programs and student applicants with the greatest degree of customer service possible;
  • Ability to interact cooperatively and sensitively with individuals from varied backgrounds;
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in higher education, admissions, or student affairs;
  • Knowledge of health professions graduate program admissions policies and procedures;
  • Experience working with student information systems;
