Associate/Full Professor:  The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in Nashville, TN is seeking to hire a Director of Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute for a 12-month non-tenure track clinical faculty position.  Applicants must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. preferred) in speech-language pathology, ASHA certification, and eligibility for licensure in Tennessee.

Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute serves as the outpatient interdisciplinary neurological rehabilitation program at VUMC.  In this dynamic environment, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists work collaboratively to promote community re-entry, and vocational and/or academic transitioning for patients with neurological conditions.

Numerous opportunities for clinical and research collaborations are available throughout VUMC, including the Department of Neurology and the Department of Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.  

VUMC is one of the largest healthcare providers in the Mid-South and is co-located with Vanderbilt University on a beautiful and vibrant campus in the heart of Nashville:  http://www.vanderbilt.edu/nashville/.

The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences is housed on the main medical center campus with multiple satellite clinics in the Nashville metropolitan area.  Overall, our busy clinical enterprise in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences sees approximately 85,000 patient visits annually.  Our academic programs are CAA accredited, and the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology programs are highly ranked (#1) by US News and World Report.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with (1) expertise in neurogenic communication disorders, including cognitive communication disorders due to traumatic brain injury, aphasia, and motor speech disorders; (2) experience in administrative roles in similar environments; and (3) experience in clinical research is desirable.

Teaching experience at the graduate level may be available.
