ETSU Asst/Assoc Prof of Audiology
The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at East Tennessee State University is recruiting for a full-time 12-month tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Audiology, with specialization in one or more of the following areas: Adult Aural Rehab, Amplification, Psychoacoustics, and/or Speech Perception. We are seeking a candidate who also has an interest in or experience with serving as a Graduate Coordinator.
Responsibilities will include teaching, research, and departmental service.
Teaching would include 4 didactic courses across the academic year; possible courses to teach include: Psychoacoustics, Amp 1, Amp 2, Amp 3, Speech Perception, and Adult Aural Rehab. In addition, faculty are expected to write and grade comprehensive exams for the subjects they teach for 1st and 2nd year students as well as proctor oral exams for the 3rd year students. If the successful candidate holds the AuD with CCC-A, there is also the expectation of clinical teaching/supervision at the Nave Center for two half days a week.
Research would include building a research lab with an independent line of research, state and national presentations, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and grant writing. Student Capstone projects within the faculty field of expertise are encouraged but not required.
Service would include student academic advising, participation on multiple department-level committees, serving at the college and university level, as well as mentoring the ETSU Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) chapter.
In addition, the role of Graduate Coordinator includes responsibilities for leading the AuD Program admissions committee, organizing and leading AuD student orientation, monitoring AuD student matriculation including remediation and probations, assigning Department GA/TS positions, and other record keeping (e.g., student intent to graduate, completion of graduate requirements).

Required Qualifications:
- A terminal academic degree (e.g. Ph.D., EdD) in Audiology or a research-focused related discipline earned by start date.
- ABD candidates will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD + AuD, and CCC-A
- Experience with Graduate Coordination responsibilities
- Evidence of a dynamic and productive research agenda with current funding or clear potential for funding.
- Experience in a collaborative, community-based, and/or interprofessional research model
- Licensure/eligibility as an Audiologist in Tennessee.
