DISCIPLINE Audiology

Full-time, tenure-eligible appointment for a 12-month position available immediately at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus (OUHC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The individual filling this position will serve as a core faculty member in the audiology section, within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, College of Allied Health. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Teaching didactic courses in the Doctor of Audiology (AuD), Master of Arts in SLP, and Bachelor of Science in CSD programs.
  • Maintaining an active and productive research program in area of expertise, including consistent publication in high-quality scholarly journals and successful application for external research funding.
  • Mentorship of AuD student capstone research projects.
  • Service to the University, College, department, and profession.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Audiology or related field (ABD candidate with anticipated degree by June 2026 will be considered).
  • Evidence of successful university teaching.
  • Potential for a productive research program including eligibility for external funding.
  • Excellent interpersonal, outreach, and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Evidence of successful teaching in foundational AuD coursework (eg, hearing science, anatomy and physiology), pediatrics, and/or cochlear implants.
  • Evidence of experience in or ability to mentor student research.
  • Ability and interest in collaboration across health disciplines in teaching and scholarship.
  • Eligibility for professional licensure in Oklahoma.

The Department offers Oklahoma’s only Doctor of Audiology and the state’s top-ranked Master’s degree in SLP. Students train on a comprehensive health campus that offers unmatched variety in clinical rotations and opportunity for collaborative science.


Students in all CSD programs participate in the Keys Speech and Hearing Center, a comprehensive teaching clinic providing services to the Oklahoma City metro community. Those services include specialty clinics in tinnitus, professional voice, teletherapy for pediatric speech and language, and vestibular assessment. Additionally, the Keys Center is a United Way of Central Oklahoma partner agency, offering public service programs to provide hearing healthcare to underserved Oklahomans and a

language-enriched pre-K environment for children on the autism spectrum.


Newly accredited for the 2025-2033 cycle and featuring new simulation experiences supported by a $1.5 million investment by the Inasmuch Foundation, CSD is growing to meet Oklahoma’s health workforce needs. For more information on the Department and its future, please visit our website.
