Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Marywood University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders seeks a full-time professor of practice (Instructor level) for a 12-month, non-tenure track clinical faculty position beginning June 2024. Qualified candidates will possess a Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.), ASHA certification and PA state licensure (or eligibility). Applicants must have five years of clinical experience, and supervisory experience is preferred. Responsibilities include supervision of diagnostic and hearing/hearing aid related services; coordination and client maintenance in audiology clinic; assistance with clinical operations in both speech-language and audiology clinics; participation in accreditation activities; advisement of students; academic teaching; participation in university and departmental shared governance and service.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is in the College of Health Sciences. It offers a five-year program that includes a pre-professional phase (undergraduate) and professional phase (graduate) leading to a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. The master’s program in SLP is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Full-service Speech-Language and Audiology clinics are located in the McGowan Center for Professional Studies.
