DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology

The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Lewis University invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology. This is a full-time, tenure track appointment for the 2024-25 academic year. All areas of expertise within the discipline will be considered; adult language, neuroscience, voice, and dysphagia preferred.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.


Lewis professors are responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration.  Duties include:
-Developing and teaching didactic academic courses in the SLP curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses.
-Developing and executing a line of scholarly research that results in dissemination of knowledge.
-Participation in clinical education of SLP students, scholarly projects and community outreach.
-Completing service to the program, college, university and our profession.
-Recording assessment data regarding student achievement at midterm and end of each semester.
-Participation in departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other meetings or events, as required.


Qualifications include an earned doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related area, and a significant record of university teaching experience, clinical experience and expertise, and scholarship. Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and must hold or be eligible for the Illinois state speech-language pathology license.
