The School of Health Professions at UTSA Health Science Center is seeking to fill one faculty position immediately to support a Master’s degree program in Speech-Language Pathology with a medical concentration.


Position: A 12-month position with potential for tenure track appointment at assistant-, associate-, or full-professor rank.

Date of Appointment: As early as January 2026 or until the position is successfully filled.

Background: The School of Health Professions at UTSA Health Science Center offers a  Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) that is grounded in the integration of academic coursework and clinical experience with an emphasis on speech-language pathology in health care. The goals of the two-year (5 semesters) residential program are to educate and train future speech-language pathologists to be exceptional critical thinkers, research-driven clinicians using the best practices, and strong leaders in the diverse communities they serve. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Responsibilities: Teaching graduate-level courses aligned with expertise, providing academic advising and mentoring to students, establishing or maintaining funded research initiatives, and contributing service to the institution and professional community.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or SLPD) in speech-language pathology; ASHA CCC-SLP; eligibility for Texas speech-language pathology licensure;  a record of teaching, scholarship, and service. Advanced doctoral candidates may apply, provided degree completion occurs prior to assuming the position.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in clinical coordination, supervision, and mentorship of graduate students, as well as previous experience in graduate-level teaching.

Salary: Highly competitive and commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
