About the Position


The Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) at Hardin-Simmons University welcomes applicants interested in program administration, who have a love for teaching, and a heart for service to serve as our next Program Director. This position would oversee both the undergraduate (Communication Sciences and Disorders) and graduate SLP programs. The interested candidate would join a dynamic faculty dedicated to the success of our growing programs. Faculty and students are involved in our pro-bono SLP clinic, and numerous unique opportunities in the community. The Program Director would be responsible for accreditation, recruitment, supervision, mentoring and development of faculty and students, teaching, communications, interdisciplinary professional education, strategic planning, and budgeting. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and perceptiveness skills are required. Scholarship, as well as university, community, and professional service are expected. This is a wonderful opportunity to express your vision and mission for an SLP program! A doctoral degree and experience in administration are preferred.

Hardin-Simmons University is a private, faith-based institution whose mission is to provide students with “an education enlightened by faith.” Located in Abilene, this beautiful campus in West Texas offers a supportive environment for faculty. The SLP program is housed in a beautiful facility. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time, 12-month, position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level available July 1, 2025. The successful candidate may be eligible for tenure-track depending on qualifications.
