The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applicants for a Full-Time, Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders position. The position begins in August 2025.

The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses that may be offered in-person, online, hybrid, or hyflex in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. Additionally, a portion of this individuals workload will be to direct the education that occurs with patients
within the on-campus speech and hearing clinic and assist in the oversight for the identification of clinical affiliation agreements. There are staff support for each of these responsibilities to complement the faculty expertise. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills and demonstrate attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department’s students. The faculty member will collaborate with other departmental faculty and staff to ensure student success. This is a full-time 12 month appointment with the opportunity for part-time work during the summer related to the clinic director role.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Coordinate graduate students’ off-campus clinical experiences.
• Coordinate graduate students’ in-house clinical experiences.
• Teach undergraduate, pre-graduate, and/or graduate level courses.
• Engage in scholarly activities. The University promotes the Teacher-Scholar Model for professional accomplishment and values faculty contributions in
diverse forms.
• Serve the University and the community through participation in various committees.
• Advise students and supervise student clinicians.
• Incorporate technology into the classroom and the clinic.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Masters in speech-language pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Pennsylvania State license eligibility.
• Experience working as a speech-language pathologist for a minimum of five years post-clinical fellowship (CF).
• Experience supervising graduate students for a minimum of three years post-CF.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with diverse staff, students, and clients.
• Experience in administration, leadership, or management of staff.
• Experience working as a clinical supervisor at a university clinic.
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses
