The Communication Disorders Program at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Speech-Language Pathology beginning in the Fall Semester (August 2026). Candidates interested in graduate program coordination or administration responsibilities are strongly encouraged to apply.


The ideal candidate will:
(a) be willing to coordinate the graduate program and advise graduate students, or engage in other administrative roles with the program,
(b) teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, including clinical supervision,
(c) mentor undergraduate and graduate research,
(d) engage in discipline-based scholarship, and
(e) provide service to the university, community, and profession.


Summer teaching and/or clinical supervision opportunities are available. Faculty appointed as Graduate Program Coordinator are eligible for additional summer compensation.

 

Candidates must possess a doctorate degree (Ph.D or Ed.D)  in communication disorders and/or sciences, or another associated discipline. Candidates must be eligible for Missouri licensure and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC- SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association for a minimum of 9 months prior to employment.


Preferred area of expertise in voice and/or swallowing disorders, or fluency disorders; however, other areas of emphasis (e.g., neurogenic cognitive-linguistic communication disorders and motor speech disorders) will be considered.  Ideal candidates will possess experience and/or interest in program administration, including graduate advising,  experience instructing and mentoring student clinicians, experience teaching at the university level, and sustaining programmatic research.   Successful candidates should possess attention to detail, exhibit effective communication skills, manage multiple concurrent projects, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.  The University of Central Missouri is an Equal Opportunity employer.
