Visiting Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology

Job Description
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to pediatric speech-language development and disorders. Other areas of teaching may include multicultural issues, clinical methods and/or clinical supervision. Responsibilities also include assisting with curriculum development, research, and service. Teaching assignments may include evening courses. Summer assignments may be available, depending upon enrollment and funding.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree with a specialization in speech-language pathology, or closely related field; ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctoral degree is required by December, 2024. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and licensed or license-eligible in speech-language pathology for the state of Illinois. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and members of the university community.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who provide evidence of their: a) commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in pediatric speech-language development and disorders, b) ability to conduct and publish research in their area of expertise and c) commitment to service.

Commensurate with education, training and demonstrated interest.

Terms of Appointment
Visiting assistant professor, nine-month contract with potential for renewal up to three years. Summer assignments may be available, depending upon enrollment and funding. Beginning date of appointment is August, 2024.
