The PhD program of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Cincinnati invites prospective students to apply for our program. The PhD level of study emphasizes preparation for careers in college-level teaching, research and professional service.  

PhD students admitted to the program are expected to complete course work in a major area of focus and to demonstrate, through a dissertation, contribution to knowledge in the areas of speech, language and hearing science, speech language pathology, or audiology. Students must also complete coursework in pedagogical techniques, supervision and lab management, and grant-writing and are expected to engage in mentored teaching experiences.
