Programs in communication science and disorders have a responsibility to support students to understand the core functions of the professions including when students participate in external clinical practicum placements. Through meaningful discussions about the core functions of the profession, collaborative partnerships between programs and students can help to identify appropriate strategies and resources to shape student supports and success in external clinical practicum placements.
